Don’t waste your bum leg or your humor

For our citizenship is in heaven,

from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior,

the Lord Jesus Christ;

who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity

with the body of His glory,

by the exertion of the power that He has

even to subject all things to Himself.

– Philippians 3:20-21

The following is from Randy Svalina a cowboy, mechanic whom I’ve known for about 10 years. I share this with his permission. Christians are resurrection people. Here’s how one cowboy from Wyoming confirms that. By the way, his boot size is a 10.

An update on my ongoing health journey, as the saying goes, we’re ‘doing a thing’ and I will be having a 50% sale on boots!

Most of you know that my 2002 terminal bone cancer wrasslin’ match resulted in an internal prosthetic which has been beat up, broken, and worn out by the life that we lead. 12 months ago prosthetic #4 was forcing its way out of the bone from stress, a very successful surgery hammered #5 into place and I was mobile once again. Each of these are extremely invasive procedures with tons of scarring and reduced blood flow, finally infection found a foothold and made a solid effort at killing me. From June-October there were 4 more surgeries, PICC lines/IV antibiotics, 6-7 weeks in hospitals and other fun ways to get out of work! I’ll do anything to be lazy!!

Infection returned once in March and again 3 weeks ago, this time insanely bad, if I had a cow that looked like this I’d put her down. Stacy suggested that in my case but I don’t wanna let her have the insurance money just yet!! 😉That selfish move on my part leaves one other option, which is happenin’ in 48 hours or so:

Chainsaw, Sawzall, freshly sharpened hand grenade, not sure which, but sumthin’ is amputating this critter mid-thigh in a couple’a days!

We’ve known for years that if I lived long enuff and didn’t slow down, we were gonna wind up here and we are plumb OK with it. We’ve lived a lotta life and have a lot more to go! I’m still putting in for my antelope and elk tags, that gives a goal for having my new traditional prosthetic figgered out!! If all else fails, Stacy can carry me, if that’s the case I’m hunting the high country again!!

We’re doing great and looking forward to no antibiotics, less pain, and new challenges to attack. As Stacy has said, God’s had it for 23 years, there’s no reason to think that He doesn’t have this already sorted out for us!!

I’ll have some extra boots laying around, the spur was my dad’s so I’m keeping it. My theory is that if the left side of the horse moves, the right side has to go somewhere too!!

I’d like to drop a few pounds anyway and I’m too lazy to diet…….

God is good, God is in control, and God reigns in easy times n’ tuff circumstances. Our lives were bought by Christ and He will use ’em for His glory!

Love y’all and have a BLESSED week, we are ready and next time ya see me I’ll be 20% off!
