THEOLOGY THURSDAY, APRIL 15, 2021
WORSHIP is our right response to God in all of life as He has revealed Himself and decreed in His creation ,land in His Scriptures(Romans 11:33-12:2).
The primary means through which we know how to rightly respond to God is being plainly instructed from His Scriptures in a local church.
Faithful preaching of the Scriptures by qualified men in the office of pastor (elder) is in itself worship and instruction for others in theirs (I Timothy; II Timothy; Titus).
Worship is not determined by a certain style of music and how we feel afterwards. Music is a blessed means of instruction and expression of our understanding of God. However, its validity is not determined by whether it moves us emotionally or physically but rather its accuracy in rightly representing God as He has revealed Himself (Ephesians 5:6-21; Psalm 33).
Take home point: when you hear the word ‘worship,’ the first thing that should come to mind is your obedience to a holy, sovereign and loving God.
